ASPeN - Adding an Image for your Organization/Library

It is possible to add images to ASPeN. These images display when someone searches for your library and add to the quality of information that people find when using ASPeN.



  1. Login to ASPeN at http://aspen.mt.gov/ 
  2. Click on "ASPeN Admin" on the right hand side of the screen.
  3. You should see something similar to the following:

  1. Click on the word "Update" beside your library's name followed by the words Additional Information. In the image above that menu item is called "ASPeN Test Library 1 Additional information."
  2. Scroll down to Organization Images.
  3. Click on "Create New Organization Image."
  4. You will see something similar to the screen below:

Uploading an image into ASPeN

Tip: Know where the image is saved BEFORE you start this process
  1. Click "Choose File" and select the image from where you have it saved
  2. Click the box beside "Default" if you want this image to the be the one that people see when they search for your organization. This is helpful if the image you are uploading is a picture of your library that you want displayed when people search for your library.
  3. Sort - you can leave this blank or you can enter a number if you want to organize your images in a certain order. Please submit a help desk ticket if you have any questions about this option.
  4. Select the closest category in Organization Image Category. Selecting a category allows people to search for all of the images in a certain category.
  5. Enter the image date if you know it.
  6. Enter a title for the image.
  7. Enter a brief description of the image. This is helpful for people who use screen readers.
  8. If you know who took the photo enter that information in Credit.
  9. Click Save.
  10. You will see a pink message telling you that you were successful.
