BCMobile - Modifying Click and Collect Settings

About

This article covers modifying your library's Click and Collect settings in the BCMobile Content Management System (CMS) and is intended for MSC libraries that purchased an app template, specifically the staff who will be responsible for administering their library‚Äôs template.

Click & Collect Settings

To access Click & Collect settings in the BCMobile CMS:
  1. Click Channels > [Your library's channel, e.g. MTSC - Dillon Public Library].
  2. Click the Collection / Pickup tab.

From here you can adjust:
  1. Whether Click & Collect is enabled (leave this box checked).
  2. Active hours
  3. Queue length
  4. Screens (and exception screens) users see
  5. Status responses staff can choose from
  6. Allowed users
  7. Whether Allow Checkout appears for Ready sessions
Click Save at the bottom of the screen to keep your changes.
Settings are channel (branch) specific. Changes you make to settings in one channel will not affect other channels. If your library has more than one channel, i.e. branches, you will need to go into each channel to make changes that you want to affect every branch.

Active Hours

Your library's Active Hours determine when Click & Collect is available to your users. These hours can match your library's open hours, but they don't have to. Make sure to enter your active hours in military time, e.g. 5:00PM should be entered as 17:00.

If a user tries to utilize Click & Collect outside active hours, they will see your library's Outside of Hours exception screen.

Queue Length

The Queue Length Default Maximum field indicates the maximum number of sessions allowed in Click & Collect at any given time. If a user tries to utilize click and collect but the maximum has been reached, that user will see your library's Busy exception screen. The default is 100 sessions.

SIP2 Settings

Leave these settings blank.

Screens and Exception Screens

The Screens section is where you can edit what your users see in the app when they are preparing their request, en route, arrived, when they've received their items, or when they've cancelled their session.

The Exception Screens section is where you can edit what your users see in the app when they try utilizing Click & Collect outside of your library's Active Hours, when Click & Collect is unavailable because staff have disabled it from the dashboard, or when the dashboard is busy because the max number of sessions has been reached.
For more information on these labels and how to best fill out fields, please visit the BLUEcloud Mobile support page, which is accessible within the CMS by clicking the support logo on the left side of the page. Navigate to the article Fields: Edit Channel: Collection/Pickup.

Status Responses

The Status Responses section is where you can list prewritten responses for staff to choose from when communicating with users from the staff dashboard. Remember to enter each response on a new line.

Allowed Users

The Allowed Users section is where you can specify the user accounts that can utilize the Click & Collect feature. For example, if you'd like to test the functionality before making it available to your users, list the user ID of a test user.
If left blank, all your users can access Click & Collect.

Allow Checkout from Ready Queue

Checking this box allows staff to check out items when a session is in the Ready column of the staff dashboard. When this option is left unchecked, staff will only be able to check out items from the dashboard when a session is in the Arrived column.
Checking this option is recommended.
