Circulation - User Policy Lists

Circulation - User Policy Lists

About

This article lists all the Symphony policies that are currently available for members' use in drop-down menus within the WorkFlows Circulation Module for Users. The article also defines the purpose of each policy type.

User Profile

User Profile designates separate groups of patrons who need different circulation configuration in terms of checkout lengths, privilege expiration lengths, privilege fee, number of checkouts, number of holds, billable status, bill threshold, and overdue threshold. User Profiles should not be used purely for demographic information; separate profiles should only be used for different configuration needs.

User Profiles are specific to each library so there is no list of available policies.

User Categories

User Categories designate demographic, grouping, and statistical information about users as well as some functionality that is not tied to circulation map or hold map configuration such as notice preference.

Each category is used for a specific set of information, and some user categories have different uses for each library type. Most categories are optional.
