Enterprise - Signing Up for SMS (Text) Notifications

What is SMS?

SMS stands for Short Message Service, commonly known as texting. Specifically, SMS sends text-only messages of up to 160 characters to mobile devices. You can currently opt into text notifications for overdue notices, which include courtesy (day-before-due) notices, hold pickup notices, direct messages, and/or general announcements from your library.

Signing Up for SMS Notifications in My Account

To sign yourself up SMS text notifications:
  1. Visit your library's online catalog.
  2. Click My Account.
  3. Log in using your card number and password.
  4. From the Personal Information tab of your account, click the SMS (Text) Notifications section.
  5. Click Add SMS Notification.
  6. Enter a label, e.g. cell, your 10-digit phone number, then choose which notices you would like to receive via text.
  7. Click Save.

Stopping SMS Notifications

To stop receiving SMS text notifications from your library:
  1. Visit your library's online catalog.
  2. Click My Account.
  3. Log in using your card number and password.
  4. From the Personal Information tab of your account, click the SMS Notifications section.
  5. Click the trash can icon to the left of the number you want to delete.
