MobileStaff - Inventorying Your Collection

This article covers using the MobileStaff app (or browser version) to inventory your collection right from the stacks.


Inventory Overview

To inventory your collection using MobileStaff:
  1. Refer to the pre-inventory questions in WorkFlows - Inventory Guidelines.
  2. Open a ticket letting MSC sys admins know your answers to the pre-inventory questions.
  3. Scan your items (instructions below) either in the MobileStaff app using your tablet/smartphone or in the browser version from a laptop.
  4. Open a ticket letting MSC admins know when you're finished with inventory.

Scanning


Tap/click Inventory from the left-hand menu.

Inventory the item(s) by:
  1. Tapping the barcode icon and scanning the item ID with a Bluetooth scanner OR your device's camera.
  2. Typing the item ID and tapping Inventory Item.
  3. Scanning the item ID (browser version).
If you're having difficulty scanning or entering the item ID, tap/click the Item Search icon (magnifying glass over a book).

The inventoried item will display down below.

If enabled in your settings, MobileStaff will check shelving order and alert you when an item is out of place.
