WorkFlows 4.0 Update Release Notes

WorkFlows 4.0 Update Release Notes

On the evening of 9/11, the MSC will be upgrading Workflows from version 3.7.0 to 4.0.0. The MSC staff tries to stay fairly current with SirsiDynix upgrades as these upgrades usually have a number of bug fixes and new features. This upgrade is especially important as a lot of the bug fixes are necessary for the implementation of the new product, SymphonyWeb, which we hope to rollout by the end of the year. There are no major functionality changes or new wizards implemented in this upgrade. While this list is not exhaustive, here are the important features and bug fixes to be noted. If you have any questions, please open up a helpdesk ticket.

New Features
UNI-39776 - Default path for applications to view and print reports updated The default path for the "Application to View Reports" and the "Application to Print Reports" fields in the Report Session wizard is now set to C:\Windows\notepad.exe for Windows workstations. In addition, if an Application field in the Report Session wizard is empty, WorkFlows uses the workstation's default application for opening the applicable file type. For more information, see the "Application to View Reports Field in the Report Session Wizard", "Application to Print Reports Field in the Report Session Wizard", "Application to View XML Reports Field in the Report Session Wizard" and "Application to View XLS Reports Field in the Report Session Wizard" topics of the WorkFlows Online Help.

UNI-43508 - Maximum Response Size set to 5000000 by default for WorkFlows and SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb The default value of the Maximum Response Size attribute of the WorkFlows and SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb Desktop Setup options has been increased to 5,000,000 characters (which is also the maximum allowed value for this field). For more information, see the "Desktop Setup" topic of the WorkFlows Online Help or the SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb Help.

UNI-42752 - Easier resizing of helper windows within SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb Visual guides now show when users resize helper windows. The size of the area to click to resize helpers has also been increased

UNI-43299 - User Address and User Extended Info wizards enabled for SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb The following SirsiDynix Symphony wizards have now been enabled for SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb: User Address 1, User Address 2, User Address 3, and User Extended Info Format.

Bug Fixes
UNI-38651 - Copy User wizard does not honor Charge History rule of copied user record The Duplicate User and User Lost Card wizards were not copying the Charge History Rule value when copying a user, and instead set the Charge History Rule to a default value of CIRCRULE. This has been fixed so these wizards honor the user's Charge History Rule when making copies of the user.

UNI-41605 - SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb: Icon for Change Item ID helper missing The icon for the Change Item ID helper didn't display within SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb. This has been fixed so that the icon for the Change Item ID helper now displays in SymphonyWeb as expected.

UNI-42856 - Screen flickers while mouse wheel scrolling through search results in SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb Previously within SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb, the screen would sometimes flicker when scrolling through search results. This has been fixed so that no flickering occurs when mouse wheel scrolling through search results specifically.

UNI-43114 - ATDEWEY and ATDEWEYLOC call numbers failed on Solaris Intel systems After the Symphony 3.7.1 upgrade, a bug caused the shelving key generation for call numbers with the “ATDEWEY” or “ATDEWEYLOC” classification to fail on Solaris Intel ISAM servers. This has been fixed so that these classifications no longer produce an 'UNABLE TO COMPLETE REQUEST' error .

UNI-43899 - Browsers using Chromium version 102 and greater not properly rendering online helps. The old display format of the WorkFlows Help (and the SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb, SirsiDynix e-Library, and eLibrary admin helps) caused page content to display as blank within the page frames when opened in a browser using Chromium version 102 or greater (such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge). This has been fixed in SirsiDynix Symphony 4.1.0 with updating all delivered help files for WorkFlows, SirsiDynix SymphonyWeb, SirsiDynix e-Library, and e-Library admin to use an HTML5 format. Additionally, HTML5 versions of these helps have also been created for sites using Symphony version 4.0.0, which may be requested from SirsiDynix Customer
Support. Note: This fix only includes the English online help files. Updates to French and Spanish help files, as well as updates to the offline WorkFlows help files, will come in separate fixes. Symphony, SymphonyWeb 4.0.0, 4.1.0 | Bug | Helps
