WorkFlows - Updating

About

This article covers upgrading WorkFlows to the most recent version. If, after following these steps, the upgrade doesn't install correctly, see WorkFlows - Installing to uninstall and reinstall.

Newest Version

The newest version of WorkFlows is 4.0.0.0.1260 (4.0 for short).

When to Update

When a new update is available, WorkFlows will let you know at login. Follow the steps below when WorkFlows prompts you to update.
If you're not automatically prompted to update (even after system administrators have announced an update is required) log into WorkFlows and click File > Update Staff Client.

Updating

Make sure to log into the workstation (computer) as an administrator before downloading, meaning that, if the workstation has multiple login profiles (e.g. one for staff, one for your tech support, etc.) choose the one that has admin permissions. If you don't have access to your workstation's admin login information, make sure to right-click on the WorkFlows icon and choose Run as administrator before logging into WorkFlows.

When an update is available, WorkFlows will prompt you with an automatic update pop-up box asking if you want to update the staff client. This window will list your workstation's current version and the newest version that's available.

Click Yes to download the update.

Confirming the Update

To confirm that an update successfully installed, log into WorkFlows.

You may need to re-enter the IP address in the configuration window: mtsc.sirsi.net

Click Help in the menu bar, then select About... from the drop-down.

A pop-up will appear. Double-check that the version number matches that of the update.
