Circulation - Assumed Lost Guidelines: Hotspots
About
Hotspot Assumed Lost Report
The Assumed Lost report for Hotspots runs daily and bills users for hotspots that have been overdue for 1, 7, or 14 days (the exact period depends on your library’s choice). This report can also be configured to send email notices to patrons if your library prefers. The bill will reflect the full cost of the hotspot from the item record. If items do not have a price, the default price is $20. If your library charges a processing fee this bill will also be attached to the user’s record.
Hotspot Process Long Overdue Report (PLO)
There is also an option to have the hotspots move through to LOST quicker as well. This report will also run daily and will move all hotspots that have been overdue for
30, 60, or 90 days to a LOST status and follow the procedures that your current PLO follow. For more information on the PLO process, please refer to the
Circulation - Assumed Lost / Process Long Overdue Guidelines KB article.
Please note that all email notices sent will be in the HTML email format. If your library has not yet converted to HTML email notices, they will need to be converted for this process. For more information of HTML email notices, please refer to
Circulation - HTML Email Notices.
